We bid farewell to Joyce S. Porter of Mount Airy, Maryland, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 85. Joyce touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As we bid Joyce farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joyce is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Sweet and Leroma Long; and her sibling Jesse "Jay" Sweet Jr.. She is survived by: her son Michael Porter (Andrea Porter); and her grandson Brandon Porter (Mackensie). She is also survived by stepchildren, godsons, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burrier Queen Funeral Home (1212 W Old Liberty Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784).
