Sylvia Ruth Charles Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Ruth Charles (Mount Airy, Maryland), who passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Emil Ruth and Kathryn Hollinger Ruth; her siblings, William Ruth and Marilyn Reynolds; her son Jeffrey Dale Charles; and her great grandchild Robert James Derreth.

She is survived by: her husband Stanley L. Charles; her sister-in-law Linda Ruth; her daughters, Jennifer Buranasiri (Munivet Buranasiri), Rebecca Derreth (R. Drew Derreth) and Colleen Cagle (Jeff Cagle); her daughter-in-law Anne Charles; her grandchild R. Tyler; and her great grandchildren, John Andrew Derreth and William Peter Derreth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Therapeutic & Recreational Riding Center in Glenwood, MD.
