He is survived by: his wife Inge; his sister Renate Edney; his children, Andreas "Andy" Behrend and Monica "Moni" Bowie; his son-in-law Gordon Bowie; and his grandchildren, Kassidy "Kass" Bowie and Jeremy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
