He was predeceased by: his mother Delia Costa Finley; and his siblings, Louis Finley, Richard Finley, Joseph Finley, Margaret Rodgers, Lilly Hodges, Jeanette Winters and Sue Collins.
He is survived by: his father Sprague O'hern Finley; his wife Virginia K. Finley; his brother Kenneth Finley; his sister-in-law Anne Finley of Chaptico, Maryland.; his sons, James Woodfin Finley Jr. (Eleanor) and Robert Alan Finley (Lori); and his grandchildren, Jamey Finley, Tricia Finley (Jamey Finley) and Michael Finley.
