It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roland Alva Bowie of Nanjemoy, Maryland, born in Marbury, Maryland, who passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Bowie and Alice Rye Bowie; his wife Betty Jean Bastain Bowie; his siblings, Ronald, Ellis, Kathleen, Selma and Myra; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Bowie; and his grandson Kenny Higgs.

He is survived by : his brother Elwyn of Port Tobacco, MD; his children, Dean, Rusty (Vanessa) and Lisa (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Erin Gordon, Joey Bowie, Courtney Murphy, Billy Bowie, Rachel Reed, Jaime Sweeney and James Sweeney; his great grandchildren, Dillon, Blake, Brynn, Austin, Kendall, Kylie and Elllie; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Bastain (Buddy) and Julia Bastain Rye. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
