He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Anne Meerdter and Gilbert John Meerdter, Sr.; and his sibling Thomas M. Meerdter. He is survived by: his wife Lisa K. Meerdter; his children, Joseph C. Meerdter (Jessica), Sara E. Meerdter (late Paul Lynch) and James R. Meerdter (Melissa); his grandchildren, Juliana Meerdter, Esme Lynch and Nora Meerdter; and his sister Karen E. Grube.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel (412 Washington Rd, Westminster, MD 21157). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
