He was predeceased by: his parents, Bascom F. Steele, Sr. and Effie P. Parag (Taylor); and his sister Vera Jean Aaron. He is survived by: his sisters, Deborah J. Morris and Beverly Diana Fooks (Jack); his sons, Mark A. Steele and Michael A. Steele; and his grandsons, Colton V. Steele, Blake A. Steele and Dylan M. Steele. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
