He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward G. Gray, Jr. and Nellie Mercer Gray; and his brother Phillip Owen Gray. He is survived by: his children, Edward G. Gray, IV (Sonny), Melanie Alexander (Marshall) and Tomey Lynn Payne (Dave); his grandchildren, Amber, John, Darrin, Shai-Anne, Daniel and August; and his siblings, Brian W. Gray, Sandra Faye Price, Resa Beth Laird, Nancy Mercer Hadad and Connie Lynn Orser.
