He was predeceased by : his parents, W. Frank Simmers and Emily Grace Simmers (Armour). He is survived by : his wife Lynne Simmers; and his sons, Franklin Simmers of North East, MD, Eric Simmers, Andrew Simmers of North East, MD and Charles Griffith of North East, MD. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
