We announce the death of Matthew R. Thomas of North East, Maryland, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 36. Matthew will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his father James M. Thomas; and his grandparents, Robert, Florisse Thomas (Coleman), Norman and Mildred Couden (Lindell).
He is survived by: his mother Gwendolyn Thomas (Couden); his siblings, Tammy L. Wade (Brooks) of North East, MD, Michael A. Thomas (Cinda) of Elkton, MD and Holly G. Temple (Dan) of Newark, DE; his nieces and nephews, Jaxson, Carter, Baylie Addyson (Micah), Hayden, Mayson, Brielle and Taylor; and his great-niece Josie. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home (121 W Park Pl, Newark, DE 19711). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
