He was predeceased by: his grandchild Mikie. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Lynn Mowery; his children, Sherri Haywood, Francis Grüner, Shane Mowery, Devin (Blakely Boyer), McKenzie (Rick Speed) and Steve (Brittney May); his parents, James Axe and Ann Axe; his sister Tonya Bentley; and his grandchildren, Alexis, Brock, Allison, Austin, Benjamin, Savannah, Annabel, Ronan, Camdyn, Paige and Kayci.
