He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Crouse and Julia Crouse; his sister Joy Crouse; and his father-in-law Michael Byrne. He is survived by: his wife Mary M. Byrne-Crouse; his children, Charles Crouse and Elizabeth Crouse; his sister Carrie Melka (Paul); his mother-in-law Elizabeth Byrne; his siblings-in-law, Terence Byrne, Elizabeth Byrne, Valerie Reynolds, Liam Byrne, Regina Byrne and Michael Byrne; his nephew Bryan; and his niece Julia. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
