He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Roy and Margaret Nell Welch (Brown); his siblings, Roy, Ernest, Russell, Olen, Carl Welch, Mabel Lewis, Nancy Uphold and Erma; and his stepsiblings, William, Burl, Ronald Welch, Maxine Patton, Rosella Patrick, Evelyn Glotfelty and Emma Katherine "Chubby" Brown.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janet Welch-Gank (Wayne) and Sarah Loughry (DJ) of Hazelton, WV; his siblings, Denver Welch (Lisa) and Cleda Jane Bulger (Tom) of Centerville, PA; his grandchildren, Lacy House, Brycen Valentine (Harley) and Brinlee Cobb; and also Rita Evans.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newman Funeral Homes (1100 Memorial Dr, Oakland, MD 21550). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
He was a member of Terra Alta Post 578, VFW, Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
