He was predeceased by: his parents, Bushrod Junior and Betty Jean Hardesty (Paugh); his wife Elizabeth Lillian Hardesty (Godwin); and his sons, Shane Patrick and Brian James Hardesty.

He is survived by: his children, Shawn K. Hardesty and Brooklyn Lambka (Matthew); his siblings, Brett Hardesty, Brenda Nazelrod, Betty Lou Riley and Kela Glotfelty; and his grandchildren, Payton Lambka, Tatum Lambka and Kayson Lytle.
