He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert, Sr. and Doris Amelia Payne (George); and his sister-in-law Rita (Romano). He is survived by: his wife Veronica Payne (Marciszewski); his children, Jeffrey (Katherine), Daniel, David and Kathleen; his grandchildren, Ryan (Clara), Kaitlin, Jon Wesson, James, Emily Payne and Kara Payne; and his siblings-in-law, Madelyn (Sotaski), Frank and Tony Marciszewski.

The family has requested that any charitable donations be made to the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation.
