She was predeceased by: her husband Chandran; her siblings, R. Vijayaraghavan, Soumini Rammohan and R. Jayakrishnan; and her mother Tara Raghavan.
She is survived by: her children, Sushil Chander (Alka), Vinaya Simha (Sesh) and Deepa Youssef (Pierre); her grandchildren, Tara Chander (Shivam), Ashwin Chander (Morgan), Dileep Simha, Anjali Chander (Manav), Maya Youssef and Nikhi Youssef; and her brother R. Reghunath. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
