He was predeceased by: his parents, David V. McGonagle and Kathleen B. McGonagle; and his children, Katherine Marie McGonagle and John Edward McGonagle. He is survived by: his wife Sally Ann McGonagle; his daughter Elizabeth Ann Betances (Jaime F. Betances); his siblings, George McGonagle (Carol), Charles McGonagle (Heather), Mary McGonagle, Barbara Groont (Ralph), Frances Almond (David), Anna Cyphers (Randall) and Christina Weary (David); and his grandchildren, Anthony Michael McGonagle, Jordan Scott Betances and Taylor Marie Betances.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church (1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108).
