He was predeceased by: his son David R. Phillips, III; and his parents, David Robert and Helen Sophia Phillips, Sr. (Shaner). He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. "Sandi" Karp; his children, Shawn Phillips (Nancy) and Anthony Phillips; his stepsons, Phil Karp (Alison) and Robert "Bobby" Karp (Pam); his grandchildren, Alan, Jeremy of Luke, BJ and Hunter Karp; and his sibling Rev. Thomas Phillips (Jeannie).
