Elayne left this world on May 31, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her husband Benno Hurwitz. She is survived by: her children, Jan Hurwitz (Joan Seidel), William Hurwitz and Jill Stempler; her grandchildren, Ryan Hurwitz (Erika), Layne Hurwitz Ryan (Tom Ryan), Zachary Hurwitz, Robby Ross Stempler (Stephanie Stempler) and Richie Stempler (Lore Brister); and her great grandchildren, Mason Hurwitz, Harper Hurwitz, Charles Ryan, Theodore Ryan, Jake Stempler and Emmy Stempler.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Baltimore Hebrew Berrymans Lane Cemetery (318 Berrymans Ln, Reisterstown, MD 21136).
