He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gordy and Gladys Florence Gordy (Tyler); his wife Carolyn T. Gordy; and his son Robert William "Rob" Gordy. He is survived by: his brother Russell W. Gordy; his son Richard Wayne "Ricky" Gordy Jr. (Roxanne); his grandchildren, Brandy Gordy, Joey Gordy and Amanda Shelton; his great grandchildren, Zoe and Mia Shelton; and his niece Lynnie.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home-Owings (8325 Mt Harmony Ln, Owings, MD 20736). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Life Celebration Service (8536 Bayside Rd, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732).
