He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Emma Jones Hughes; and his parents, Lindsay Miller Hughes and Jane Catherine Hughes (Fuller). He is survived by: his children, William Evan Hughes, Susan Fuller Hughes Sarudy (Richard) and Jane Gwyneth Hughes Lewis (John). He is also survived by five grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery (19401 Middletown Rd, Parkton, MD 21120).
