She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Brown and Cathrine Sample; and her husband Roland Nelson. She is survived by: her son Rodney B. Sample (Keva); her godsons, Kenneth Shockley, Billy Ward (Tawanda) and Joe Deshields; and her grandchildren, Deric Taylor, Jr., Raheam Davis, Tyshsia Mitchell, Sharris Sample, Jai Sample and Jewel Sample. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
