He was predeceased by: his wife Diane Tolson; his parents, Carl H. Tolson Sr. and Margaret Bessie Buckler; and his sisters, Lois Anthony, Della Schmidt, Margaret Bratcher, Dorothy Schleicher (Sissy), Margaret Nelson and Patricia Morral (Patsy).

He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Carl Tolson; his grandchildren, Colt Tolson and Aubrey Tolson; and his great grandchildren, Keon Kinard and Raelynn Kinard. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his late wife's children and grandchildren.
