He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Dohler and Barbara Dohler; his wife Darlene Dohler; his son Travis David Dohler (Miranda); his grandchildren, Paige Dohler, Jameson Dohler and Willow Anne Dohler; and his sisters, Sue Murray and Priscilla Lerche. He was also cherished by his son, and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.

“Sorry to hear of david's passing our childhood friendship was short we both were enamored of the beatles yeah yeah yeah i remember walking ( we walked everywhere ) along the old roberts' farm dirt road that paralleled andover high, singing twist & shout at the top of our lungs. I am sure that was quite awful. That summer (66) we saw the beatles in dc as defensive guard, he was a rock. I played linebacker & teams didn't like to run to our side; it hurt! And he had awesome parents! Tskillman”
