She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Melvin Nichols and Gladys Nichols; her husband John F. Schmitz Sr.; and her siblings, Norman Nichols, Robert Nichols and Alice Channels.
She is survived by: her sons, John Schmitz, Jr. (Darlene) and Joseph Schmitz (Carol); and her sister Mary Ellen Drake. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church 4760 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122, supporting the community that was so close to Delores's heart.
