He is survived by: his wife Mary Distel; his children, Mary Thompson (Tim), Gerald Distel, Jr. (Mary) and Michele Martinez; his grandchildren, Gerald Distel III, Tiffany Lanahan (Nicholas), Greg Poling (Nicole), Krystina Poling and Cody Martinez (Corine); his brothers, Robert and Marvin Distel; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Vincent Farace.
