He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Max Reed and Sarah Marie Reed; and his son Brian Reed. He is survived by: his wife Fay Reed; his sons, David Reed (Cindy) and Robert Reed (Siobhan); his grandchildren, Samantha, DJ, Eoghan and Finnegan; and his siblings, Janice Hoffman and Douglas Reed.
