He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Neil Callahan and Emma Grace Mohr Callahan; and his siblings, Tom Callahan, Ann Marble, Bob Callahan and Suze Walls.
He is survived by: his wife Julia R. Callahan; his children, Daniel P. Callahan, Jr. (Gretchen) and Kathleen C. Goodley (Stephen); his siblings, Kathleen Kellner, Patrick Callahan and Grace Price; and his grandchildren, Grace, Henry and Collin. He is also survived by extended family and many dear friends.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Crouch Funeral Home (127 S Main St, North East, MD 21901). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Although his familiar advice may no longer be heard, those who knew him will surely find themselves smiling whenever they hear someone begin a sentence with, "What you ought to do is…"In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor Danny's memory by sharing a favorite story of him with anyone who knew him.
