He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Bernstein and Rose Bernstein-Jacobs; his stepfather Aaron Jacobs; his sister Selma Blum; his siblings-in-law, Joseph Blum and Sheila Zaba Jacobs; his nephew Sanford Blum; his niece Carol Blum; and his great-nephew Michael Blum.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Bernstein; his sons, Hugh Bernstein (Stephanie Lichter) of Baltimore and Grant Bernstein of Long Beach, CA; his granddaughter Sydney Bernstein; his brother Saul Jacobs; and his niece Gail Freymen (Jay).
