He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Alter and Irving Alter. He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Alter; his children, J. Zachariah Alter (Rachel), Jamie Deutsch (Derek) and Kelly Alter (Fred Pope); his sisters, Mary Malinow (Andrew) and Kathy Gottschalk; and his grandchildren, Zoey Nahom (Ofer), Noa, Benjamin Deutsch, Ethan, Anna Pope, Mila, Samantha and Hazel Alter.
