We announce the death of Ruby Brown Bowmann (Pocomoke City, Maryland), who passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 97. Ruby will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Burley Tarr and Sallie Hinman Tarr; her former husband Robert Brown; her husband Charles Bowmann; her sister Mabel Tarr Scott; her brother-in-law Robert H. Scott, Sr.; and her niece Pauline Fuller Hinton.
She is survived by: her nephews, John F. Scott (Debra) and Robert H. Scott, Jr.; her great-nephew John R. Scott; and her great-nieces, Kristen Scott Ward and Jayne Fuller Deaver.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Remson Cemetery (4249 Sheephouse Rd, Pocomoke City, MD 21851).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pocomoke Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, in recognition of Ruby's long-standing commitment to this organization.
