It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph Edward Murtha of Poolesville, Maryland, who passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Murtha and Eileen Murtha; his sisters, Eileen, Maureen, Joan and Barbara; and his brothers-in-law, Jim and Jack.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Karan, Helen (Patrick), Andrew (Kristina), Elizabeth (Benjamin) and James; his grandchildren, Rebeckah, Owen, Makenna, Regan, Mara, Kristian, Kaleb, McKenna, Teagan, Frances and Waker; his sisters, Ann, Cathy, Virginia, Eleanor (Jim) and Theresa; and his brother-in-law Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Haiti Fund ("Haiti Fund" attn/memo line).
