She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Fred Sexton, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Sexton (Carter); her siblings, Mary Lois Sexton and Joseph F. Sexton, Jr.; and her granddaughter Allison Kate Gilbert.
She is survived by: her husband Dennis R. Gilbert, Sr.; her children, Rebecca "Becky" Harman (William, Jr) of Charlestown, Maryland, Dennis R. Gilbert, Jr. (Teresa) of Rising Sun and Aaron Gilbert (Jennifer Lynn) of North East, Maryland.; and her siblings, Bonnie Arnold and David Sexton. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church (1168 W Old Philadelphia Rd, North East, MD 21901). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
