We bid farewell to Richard Carl Smith of Port Deposit, Maryland, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 19, 2024 at the age of 84. Richard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Richard touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Boggs and Mary Boggs; his wife Betty Smith; and his sons, Frank Thayer and Kent Thayer.

He is survived by : his children, Kimberly Crouse (Mike), Lorrey Padon (Jeff), Angela Troy (Greg), Connie Thayer and Robbie Smith (Amelia). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Asbury Church (21 Craigtown Rd, Port Deposit, MD 21904). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
