He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Robert Herrell and Sylvia Lee Herrell (Jenkins); his former wife Delores Herrell; his stepson Emory "Cricket" Thorne, Jr.; Shirley Herrell.
He is survived by: his sons, Allen "Pete" D. Herrell, Jr. (Michelle) and Kevin W. Herrell; and his stepdaughter Margaret Wagoner (Paul). He is also survived by five grandchildren and two step grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
