We are sad to announce that on February 16, 2024, at the age of 92, Emma Jean Mettam of Potomac, Maryland, born in Rockwood, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Allen Kirk and Bonnie Kirk; and her siblings, James Kirk (Buddy), Wilma Smith (Sis) and Lucile Herndon.

She is survived by : her husband Peter John Mettam; her sons, Kirk Ian Mettam (Lisa Couturier), Terry Donevan Mettam and John Kieth Mettam (Laura Cromwell); and her granddaughters, Cara Mettam-Shideler, Madeleine Mettam (Fossey) and Lucienne Mettam.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Howard University School of Art/ Fashion, Textiles and Interior Design.
