He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Linda Shapiro; his stepchildren, David Merkin (Lisa) and Jill McGriff (Billy); his children, Jill Barber (Russ) and Ken Shapiro (Joanna); his grandchildren, Laney, Jocelyn, Meg, Amanda, Will, Cody, Maddie, Blue and Cedar; his parents, Dorothy Shapiro (Flax) and Julius Shapiro; and his sister Mary Lou Winkler. He was also cherished by his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
