It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elsie Mae Simmons of Prince Frederick, Maryland, who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Abram H. Hooper and Daisy M. Hooper (Ramsey); her son Robert H. Evans, Sr. (Thelma); and her grandsons, Charles E. Simmons, III and Jameson Truitt (Jamie).
She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Simmons; her children, Charles Jr. (Cheryl), Stuart (Alyson) and Michele Mister (Simmons); her grandchildren, Robert H. Evans Jr., Ryan M. Simmons, April N. Simmons, Abigail Simmons, Stuart M. Simmons Jr., Joseph Mister III, Shawn M. Mister, Matthew Truitt, Andrew Truitt and Brendan Truitt; and her great grandchildren, Hayden Minnick (Simmons), Levi Puryear (Simmons), Skylar Simmons, Reyne Simmons, Ashley Evans, Mary Jane (Truitt), Emmie (Truitt) and Jameson Thomas (Truitt).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home-Port Republic (4405 Broomes Island Rd, Port Republic, MD 20676). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at the Follow Asbury Cemetery (3660 Hallowing Point Rd, Prince Frederick, MD 20678).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Elsie's memory to the Humane Society of Calvert County or the American Cancer Society.
