He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhardt Elmer and Dorothy Patricia Klapper (Cowie); his siblings, David Windwalker and Linda Gubbine; and his son Christopher Klapper.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Klapper; his son Matthew Klapper of Lusby, MD; his daughter-in-law Belinda Klapper; his daughter Elizabeth Deutch (Klapper) of South Lyon, MI; his son-in-law Steven Deutch; his stepchildren, Parran Collery of Broomes Island, MD and Alexander Collery of Upper Marlboro, MD; his daughter-in-law Mary Chamberlain; and his grandchildren, Calvin (Connor Klapper), Owen (Ethan Collery), Margaret Klapper and Sophie Deutch. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
