As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Mikhail may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Alla Smolkin-Alberstein; his sister Larissa Giller; and his parents, Sarra Alberstein and David Alberstein. He is survived by: his children, Oleg Smolkin (Diana), Yelena Zhukov and Alexander Alberstein (Rina); his grandchildren, Paul Zhukov, Victoria Smolkin, Vladislav Smolkin, Sarah Alberstein and Benjamin Alberstein; and his great grandchild Sophia Rothrock.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sol Levinson's Chapel (8900 Reisterstown Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208).
