He is survived by: his former wife Sarah Dienst of Eastern Shore, MD; his children, Laura Chao Smith (Craig), Michelle Chao (Jeremy) of Western, MD, Jeff Chao of Eastern Shore, MD and Dorothy Chao Johnson (C. O.) of Eastern Shore, MD; and his grandchildren, Robert (R. P.), Reagan, Norah, Kyla, Asa, Evan and Marshall.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Moore Funeral Home (12 S 2nd St, Denton, MD 21629).
