He was predeceased by: his parents, Farrell Whitson and Sybil Goad Whitson; and his sister Connie Ann Montgomery. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Whitson of Ridgely; his son Wayne Lee Whitson, Jr. of Harrington, DE; his siblings, Barbara E. Walls (Lester) of Ridgely and Douglas K. Whitson (Kathy) of Goldsboro, MD; and his caregivers, Heather Sauerhoff and Nicole Gondeck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
