She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Strong Downey Sr. and Rebecca Parsons Downey; her brother Ricky Downey; and her grandsons, Brady Kuechler and Daniel Swartz.

She is survived by: her husband Larry Dowling of Paul's Episcopal Church; her children, James Dowling (Laurie), Jodi Swartz, Betsy Deckelman (Bill), Laura Barry (Jason) and Sam Dowling (Kate); her grandchildren, Molly Dowling, Kathryn Micken (Matt), Suzanne Dowling, Jake Hickman (Hailey), Sam Hickman (Kaylene), Cora, Abigail, Grant Barry, Colby Dowling (Dana), Macie Cannan, Ava and Presley Dowling; her great grandchildren, Brooke, Allison Fithian, Addie, Alden, Ollie Micken, Tatum, Grady Milburn, Austin, Keagan Kuechler, Mason Dowling, Lincoln Hickman and Rhett Hickman; her great great grandchild Weston Fithian; and her brother Joseph Downey (Millie).
