He was predeceased by : his mother Rose; and his wife Jackie Goldstein. He is survived by : his daughter Cindy Bertaut (Richard); his grandchildren, Scott and Clara; and his sister-in-law Bobbie Goldstein. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He photographed families, children and professionals and dignitaries, including government officials, local celebrities and many first ladies, and donated his photographic time to organizations such as The Junior League of Washington and the American Heart Association Women's Board.
