Theodore Guerrant wrote a sympathy message

“Eleanor was one of those friends that one could count on as certainly as the annual reappearance of Christmas and Easter, except that she was available on a daily basis if one needed a friend. She once said to me, "Boys grow up eventually in spite of everything you try to do to help them!" which I have quoted many times over the four decades or so that I knew and loved Eleanor. She was a superb musician with perfect pitch who could play piano well, sing well, and teach well. I will miss her.”
