He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schruefer and Mary Schruefer (Posinski); his son Daniel Schruefer (late Anjali); and his siblings, Walter Schruefer and Mary Louise Farooq.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Schruefer; his sons, Dr. John Michael Schruefer (Julie) and Stephen Schruefer (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsey, Eric, Jillian, Alisha, Lila, Alyson and Matthew; and his siblings, Dolores Vally, Charles Schruefer and George Schruefer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
