He was predeceased by: his parents, John Twitchell and Dorothy Twitchell (Huesselman); and his sister Andrea Meyer. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his sons, John Twitchell, Anthony "Tony" Twitchell, Christopher Elwood and Jonathan Elwood (Jennifer Pepson); and his grandchildren, Tiffany Elwood, Madison Elwood, Christopher S. Elwood, Julianna Twitchell and Spencer Twitchell. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
