She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Cassin and Storrow Cassin; her husband A. A. Sommer, Jr.; her niece Charlotte Cassin; and her son-in-law Mark Gariepy.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Futter, Edward Sommer (Tracy) of Wilmette, IL and Nancy Gariepy of Vienna, VA; her grandchildren, Jillian Futter, Allison Futter, Claire Futter, Andrew Sommer, William Sommer, Michelle Gariepy Campbell (Matt) and Nicholas Gariepy; her sister-in-law Marianne Schulz; and her nieces and nephews, Becky Stein (Peter), Evelyn Sprott (Stappye), Stephen Schulz and Mychal Schulz. She is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Wellesley Fund at Wellesley.
