She was predeceased by: her husband Benjamin Castro; her daughter Maria Stanton; her brothers, Jose Alberto and Luis Rodolfo Montero; her son-in-law Howard Newman; and her parents, Alejo Montero Chacón and Haydee Alvarado Pacheco.
She is survived by: her children, Carlos Guzman (Marlies), Iliana Brown (Bruce) and Clara Newman; her grandchildren, Andre Guzman (Nicole), Richard Brown, Chloe DeMayo (Nick), Daniella Kanyer and Ashley Newman; her brother Alejo Montero; her nephew Mauricio Montero (Marta); and her great-nieces, Mariana and Mariela Montero. She is also survived by family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice.
