He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Duffy and Marie Duffy. He is survived by: his daughters, Caron Young, Lisa Gilley (Craig) and Jennifer Villarreal (Marcelo); his grandchildren, Catherine Connor Gilley, Cameron Gilley, Hannah Young, Bridget Young, Sophia Villarreal and Liam Villarreal; and his sister Eileen Doerner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brother-in-law.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, consider pouring a Guinness, sipping a Jameson Irish Whisky, or making a contribution to The Alzheimer's Association or Catholic Charities in his honor.

“Our sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Duffy. We were classmates at Holy Cross in the pre-med track. Our medical careers were slightly disparate geographically--Bill in Albany and I in Baltimore. But the Vietnam War brought us together briefly at the U.S. Army Hospital in Ft. Campbell. We were both deployed to Vietnam and resumed our careers and lives in the 70s. We will remember him as a dedicated physician and a consummate gentleman-- a friend during perilous times. Frank Scarpa”
